RITUAL
The Sourdough Bread
The mother of foods. An ancestral food element that is connecting us with our past. The staple food that nourished our ancestors and the food resource that is connecting us with them. Her essence infused with the natural elements and the essence of the sacred grain of wheat created by the Earth.
The sourdough bread hand-crafted with the wholesome ancestral wheat, the memory of the water, the micro-community of the sourdough starter, and the sea salt crystals.
We pause for a moment in silence to connect to our body and to our senses, our portals of connection to our bodies while exploring and receiving the world around us. We pause to feel the dough, to feel the grain of wheat and to connect with it. We pause for a moment to be initiated into the bread making process as a sensorial ritual.
Through an alchemical ritualistic process, we transform the ingredients, we observe the changes, we create something new collectively and in togetherness. We notice the breath of the dough, we feel her skin as if we are feeling our skin. We alchemise the ingredients while staying in connection to our own body and to our intuition. We learn about the biology of her fermentation.
We reawaken together the codes of the genetic and somatic information of an ancestral food making process woven within us by the women who have lived before us.
We remember together in circle our grandmothers and the great-grandmothers by making the same food that they were making as well and the food that had nourished them.
Two half days sanctuary to meet deeply with the essence of the sourdough bread making in an holistic and innovative embodied way.
We connect to the essence of the wheat and we handcraft the sourdough bread as a sensorial ritual, through body meditation, sensorial food meditation and conscious food preparation practices.
We are being initiated into the sourdough bread making in a sacred circle of women remembering the ancient ways of living and crafting in togetherness. We handcraft bread in connection to our bodies through our senses, to the body of the Earth and the sacred grain of wheat. We are bringing back the power and magic of the female connection while we are being initiated into one of the most ancient food making methods known since the antiquity, the sourdough bread making.
We share in circle the sourdough bread we crafted in ritual and we consume it during a conscious eating practice.
We gather around ‘Estia’, the centre of our home.
We honour together the connection to our bodies, senses, the sacred grain of the wheat, and our intuition …
By the end of the weekend you will leave with your own sourdough bread loaf and you will be able to make your own sourdough bread at home! You will feel more connected to your body and to the way you want to be nourished.

TESTIMONIALS
Judit B. // HUNGARY
‘I was surprised how deep you can go when you are relaxed, intentional, and present with food, when you stop to listen…
Listen to what and how your body craves to touch, smell, hear and taste. Bringing in all the senses to turn to a more instinctual, intuitive and deeper knowing of the needs of my cells, my soma.
Meeting myself in these new ways, felt like little awakenings and I became more conscious of the complexity of myself and found new devotional practice in nourishing my body.

‘The sourdough bread workshop has moved me beyond the art of bread making. It has been an encounter with the power of female energy accompanied by the journey to the essence of Mother Earth. I would recommend this event to every woman who wants to reconnect with the female energy and get inspired by the presence of a fantastic artist and guide - Alexandra.’.
Poulcheria M. // GREECE
‘After giving a few days to myself to digest and fully understand what I learnt in this illuminating and deep workshop that Alexandra visualised and gave birth to, very naturally this philosophical question came to me as the aftertaste of this dual experience of the body's and soul's nourishment : “ will you keep breadcrumbing yourself when you now know how to create a bread from the scratch?”. Thank you Alexandra!
I will always treasure this experience’.

‘This work of the weekend felt life changing. Coming back to this ceremonial way of being in communion to prepare our meals, to share our stories and taste our food together slowly and intentionally, with reverence for what we were eating, brought me in touch with my body and relationship with food as it hasn’t done before’.
